Have you ever seen an ad for a Shamrock Shake at McDonald’s but could never have it since it contained dairy?

Here’s an alternative to try out and show your holiday spirit, Vegan!


This recipe makes up to 5 servings

1 cup fresh spinach
2 cups frozen banana chunks
1 cup raw cashews, soaked for 2 hours and drained
4-5 dried pitted dates, soaked for 30 minutes and drained
1 Tbsp. cocoa powder
1/3 cup fresh mint leaves or 1/2 tsp. mint extract
1 tsp. vanilla extract
Vegan Whip cream ( Optional)

  • Place all the ingredients, except the vegan whipped cream, in a blender and blend until smooth.
  • Pour into glasses and top each with vegan whipped cream if desired.

Whip Cream Recipe:

1 can full-fat coconut milk, chilled in the refrigerator overnight
1/3 cup powdered sugar
1 tsp. vanilla extract

  • Without shaking it, open the can of coconut milk.
  • Scoop out the thickened coconut milk and place in a large chilled mixing bowl.
  • Add the powdered sugar and vanilla extract and mix with a hand mixer until combined and fluffy.

This serves up 1 1/2 cups
